A panel of trade media and industry buyers judged the competing products.
EnDeare Breastpump
"The EnDeare worked as well as Medela® Symphony®. I loved the 2 bottle holders right on the pump."
"The EnDeare worked as well or better than the Lactina®. I really appreciated the bottle holders."
"The Hygeia pump...I love it! It is sooooo different in feel and function than any pump I have tried. I couldn't get over how consistent it was and how smooth it felt without pulling the nipple. The record/play feature is one that really is going to change the way moms feel about pumping...great for letdown!
Style wise I think it is very compact and "cool" which is a nice change. It is compact without feeling cheap like some of the competitors. The parts are modern with visual appeal.
The features that make this stand out are not the things that the average person is going to see right off...the quality and design is really next to none. The highlight is your product guarantee!"
“My grandson is doing wonderfully and exclusively breastfeeding now. They had a few birth complications (and poor hospital information) that delayed things and he lost 11% the first few days. Fortunately, a Hygeia pump was available for her to use at home. It worked great and because of it she was able to supplement with her milk and it was only a couple of days to exclusively being at the breast. He is back to birth weight at two weeks. Thanks! EnJoye Breastpump
"I bought the Hygeia Enjoye LBI on the recommendation from a friend. After reading the recommendations/reviews online about how it is reusable (can pass it on to other moms), no mold build-up and it is the "greenest" pump on the market - I was sold. With a 21 day return policy, how could I go wrong? Any company that believes in its product this much is worth a try, right? Well... not only is it an amazing pump, it mimics the way my baby actually feeds! And the adjustable speed and strength make it easy to find the right feel (and so fast!). Honestly, I find it to be better than Symphony hospital grade pump I rented for the first month...a great product and a great company' Nicole, mother of Wallis
"The Hygeia Enjoye breast pump is great for moms, especially first time moms. Breastfeeding and pumping can be intimidating and the Hygeia Enjoye pump is small, portable and easy to use with only two controls to worry about. In addition it's ideal for travel with a 3-hour battery so you can use it anywhere or in any room in the house and not have to worry about an outlet. The sound recording that can replay your baby's voice or cry is a nice feature to help with the let down process. And last, but not least, I love using a pump that I know can be recycled and not contribute to more trash in our environment." Amanda, Mother of Brooks - Columbus, Ohio
"As a second time mom with previous milk supply issues, I looked forward to breastfeeding again, but was worried about keeping up the supply/demand ratio. I was not looking forward to pumping when our second little girl was recently born. I knew it was a nessary evil given the supply/demand logistics and my imminent return to work. But, it was the little things that I wasn't looking forward to...the sound of the previous pump I used, trying to figure out just the right station to get the milk to let down without the nipple pain, and then flow fast enough to get back to sleep or tend to other needs.
With a new EnJoye pump, I was immediately impressed with how quiet it was - and smooth. I love the CARE button to help with let down (and so does my toddler), and the quick tips provided with the pump were a huge help! I never realized how beneficial it was to change speeds during a session until I pumped about 10 oz in one sitting - quite unusual for me. Now, while I would still rather breastfeed, when pumping is necessary, I don't dread it. I am able to quickly let down and empty whatever our baby hasn't managed to do on her own or relieve myself from engorgement.
Because freezing milk for my return to work was a goal, being able to easily pump straight into Hygeia's milk storage bags is such an added benefit. The secure fit, the ability to stand on their own, and the holders made the process less stressful about spilling any drop of liquid gold. While pumping, like breastfeeding, is a skill that you have to remember and takes some time, I have been very fortunate. Pumping is going so well with the EnJoye that after just two weeks I was looking for more milk storage bags. I actually had to buy a deep freezer because there wasn't enough storage in our regular freezer. And, yes, our little girl is thriving beautifully at 9 lbs 2 oz at 2 1/2 week check up. I never imagined having this much milk stored so early and I am not even close to going back to work and pumping full time yet.
The added benefit of sharing the pump or recycling it is a distant thought away since we are just starting out, but I always like having options. I am just so glad that if pumping continues to go this well, it is likely I can achieve my goal of exclusive breastfeeding even after returning to work! "

"I have been using Enjoye LBI and there are so many reasons why I love it! It's efficient, and together with the C.A.R.E button, it stimulates more let-downs, boosting my milk supply! It is assuring that all parts that come into contact with breastmilk are BPA-free and DEHP-free. Enjoye is easy to use, and the parts are durable (definitely a PLUS as it can be costly and really frustrating to have fragile parts getting spoilt so easily, especially when we desperately need to buy replacement before our next pumping session...a nightmare if it happens in the middle of the night!). Internal rechargeable battery makes it so easy to pump on the go. And it's so cool to be able to express milk directly into both narrow and wide neck bottles! I truly appreciate that it can be re-used and re-cycled...saving the Earth = making the world better for our next generation. The 3-years warranty shows how confident Hygeia is in its products. I highly recommend Enjoye to fellow breastfeeding moms or moms-to-be!" - Juliet
" I have a Enjoy and I love it! OMGosh! I do it's wonderful plus they have a 3 week return policy it has a button on it where you can record you lo cry'in or laughing or what ever it comes pre set with a infant crying... and I believe being successful at the pump is about more then just ploping down and turning it on, I think your senses need to be in it. My mom said just the sound of a baby crying would make her let-down it didn't matter if it was her baby or not or where she was at. My aunt same thing! They said just wait until your at the store and some baby starts crying and you soak your shirt! So I always bring a little blanket of my baby's, a picture and now I push the button and it's my baby making nosies and laughing. I even get the excited, antispating feeling right before I pump. So it works for me to be in the mind of pumping for my lo before I do so far this works for me. I make enough for my baby while he's at day 5 days a week for 9+ hours a day. I don't pump at home but I do have a little hand pump at home but I haven't used it in a long time. Ok sorry so long I just wanted to tell you about my new pump that I love I do recommend it to any one plus with the 3 week return if you don't like it send it back."
"If you're breastfeeding, you might have had an experience like this: You're out somewhere, you hear a baby cry, and you let down. (For the uninitiated, let down is the reflex that makes milk flow from the glands that produce milk, down into your milk ducts, and into your nipples.) Other research shows that looking at the baby's photo or smelling the baby's article of clothing can also elicit a let down, and many moms I've talked to have had this experience. Although it can be embarrassing if you're in public and aren't wearing breast pads, it's a natural reaction. And it's a good thing! Many breastfeeding moms use these triggers to make it easier to let down before breastfeeding or pumping. You might have read about Hygeia II Medical Group's recent research that found the sound of babies' cries triggers let down. Their breast pumps actually feature a "cry button" so you can record your baby crying, and play it back before pumping to help trigger the let down. And I have to admit, it works! Every time I hear their demo pump at conferences, I feel like I will let down. It is an odd but familiar feeling, because my body is recollecting breastfeeding. I remember when I was weaning one of my children, I heard a baby cry and I let down in the middle of a mall! And it was about 15 months after I stopped breastfeeding, so it happens for sure. (Ok, too much info! ;)) I wonder if there's a volume adjuster on Hygeia's pump!"
"It worked as well as my Pump In Style®."
"
I have been using my Hygeia Breast Pump since my son was 3 weeks old. He is now almost 7 months old and we still use it very often. I love the pump! It is comfortable and compact. It is a perfect size to travel with and has a few special features that I have really come to appreciate. The play and record feature is fabulous and I use it almost every time I pump. I recorded my baby crying (poor thing) :) and I play it when I pump because it helps the let down process. What a genius idea! I have also used the outlet converter when we traveled out the country which of course came in very handy. Lastly, I love the fact that it doesn't have to be plugged in because I have also had to pump in the car! My advice to you ladies who have not yet purchased a pump...go with Hygiea! :)" Elyse, San Diego
"More comfortable and easy than Pump In Style®."
"I recently purchased the new Hygeia EnJoye-LBI to replace my Medela Pump-In-Style and I love it!
I began using the Hygeia pump upon the advice of a friend and it has a lot of wonderful features that have made my life much easier. I am fortunate enough to have a great supply and a quick letdown. I like that the Hygeia pump allows you to self-adjust the speed and strength of suction and also has single and double pumping capability. On the Medela pump, I had to turn the dial all the way to highest setting and still felt that it wasn't enough and also felt the suction wasn't strong enough when the double suction was in use so I had to pump one side at a time. I set the Hygeia pump just higher than average and it's a perfect fit for me. I also enjoy being able to slow down the suction speed after my letdown which is usually within the first 30 seconds of pumping. The other nice features for mothers who have a slower letdown is the customizable CARE button that allows you to record your babies cry to stimulate your letdown which I imagine is a great feature if you're pumping at work or with other kids running around and you don't have much time. The device is also very quiet- much quieter than the Medela pump. I am able to pump in the middle of the night without waking up my husband. Additionally, I love that all of the plastic is BPA/DEHP free and that you are able to recycle the unit. In addition it is a "Green Pump" in that it can be shared between mothers. This is a great feature if you plan on lending it to a sister or friend in between pregnancies or if you plan on selling it after you're done. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and wanted to spread the word! Breastfeeding can be a huge challenge and the Hygeia pump makes it a much easier experience." Mrs. A. NY
"My let-down with the EnJoye was easier than with Pump In Style®."
"In the past five months, I have tried half a dozen breast pumps. Because of my daughter's special needs, I cannot breast feed her, but feeding her breast milk is a high priority. I pump between eight and ten times per day, and I need a pump that allows me the ease and reliability of a strong motor, easy set-up and clean-up, mobility, and life span. The Hygeia offers all this and more. I yield more milk from the Hygeia than any other pumps I've used, it takes just a few minutest to assemble and disassemble Hygeia's parts, compared to other "hands-free" pumps, and the internal battery allows me to take my pump with me everywhere I go. I never have to worry about finding a wall outlet to pump when I spend the day away from home running errands.
One of the most reassuring thing about the Hygeia LBI is that it promises long-lasting satisfaction. Many pumps can only guarantee that the pump's motor will last 150 to 200 hours of pumping. I know that if I ever have a problem with my Hygeia pump, I have the comfort of a three year warranty. I could not be happier to use my Hygeia LBI pump!" Jeny B California
"Compared to Pump In Style®, I liked the EnJoye speed control knobs better."
"Hygeia Enjoye is great! I love it! I have seen an increase in my milk flow, letdown also comes much faster. I love the quietness of the pump. My previous double breastpump was so noisy that I had to cover the motor with pillows and comforter so that I won't disturb my baby and husband. With Hygeia Enjoye, it's so silent I hardly hear anything! No regrets at all! Even though my baby is already 8 months, switching at this time to Hygeia Enjoye is still worth it! I am happy with my purchase. Thanks!" Melissa L.
"There's so much to love about this pump that I'm not even sure where to start"" I really like the pump. I was a little worried about giving up the hospital grade one but I'm getting the same output from this one and it's so much more portable. With its adjustable speed and suction, it's a lot more gentle on me than the Pump In Style. It may seem minor, but it's also nice that it's a lot quieter than the Pump in Style. It's wonderful how light and tiny it is! It easily fits into my pumping bag and is very discreet" . Emily
